Indiana history came to life for Batesville Intermediate School fourth graders on Thursday, April 14, as three civil war re-enactors engaged the students in a 2-hour program that included skits, discussion and participation. Indiana's role in the Civil War was presented through the eyes of soldiers in the 32nd Indiana Regiment.

A local thespian brought the character The Cat in the Hat to life for all BPS students during library classes the week of Feb 29-March3. The RAA Arts-in-Education sponsored this to enrich the celebration of Dr. Seuss's birthday happening at BPS. In addition to reading The Cat in the Hat to all classes, The Cat browsed for books during checkout time, appeared in various classrooms, lunch periods and recess times throughout the week.
