Clay Artist, Tim Ryan, visited BPS on Friday, November 8th to create Chinese Lanterns while learning basic hand building skills with clay. The students love working with Mr. Ryan and being able to experience the art of clay!
Judy Dominic visited Paul Satchwill’s Mythology classes during a Norse Mythology unit to provide a lesson on the ancient art of weaving. Norse culture believed that weaving had significant mystical properties, and held it high on the list of cultural practices. Students were able to discuss the art while weaving a wristband themselves! Thanks to Judy Dominick for travelling to teach our students this wonderful cultural and artistic lesson.
Ja’Shon Burks is the returning choreographer for the Batesville Singers show choir. This is his 4th year working with the group. He has 14+ years experience working with show choirs around the state of Indiana and has also served as a judge at various competitions. Burks choreographed the full show, six songs, that Singers will perform at 2 competitions in March, Kings Island in May, and will perform on Batesville’s stage at their Dinner Show February 29! Ms. Davis presented a powerpoint presentation on the history of collage art, highlighting several artists. They also discussed the cultural implications of movements such as the Dadaist & the Guerrilla Girls. The students were asked to create a collage that represents current events or personal concerns.
