
“Rapunzel” comes to life at BPS
The classic fairy tale of “Rapunzel” comes to life in an exciting musical theater production for Batesville Primary students! Students were happy to watch this familiar performance as it connected to their reading curriculum. They were able to watch this pre-recorded production through The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati.

Mosaic Artist, Vicki Murphy visits BPS
Mosaic Artist, Vicki Murphy, visited Batesville Primary School to help work on a Mosaic Mural within the art room. Students watched and learned the mosaic techniques and were able to work on their own mosaic art at their desks.


BPS students learn Zumba
In physical education class at BPS, students learned about Zumba Dance with instructor, Laura Ault. 2nd grade students were introduced to a combination of dances and cardiovascular exercises while learning music of other cultures. Along with having fun through exercise, Zumba also improves hand-eye coordination, gross-motor coordination, and self-esteem!


Dragons Love Tacos visits BPS
BPS students in grades Preschool through 2nd grade enjoyed a theater production called Dragons Love Tacos. This production was adapted from the book by Adam Rubin where a boy and his dog watch a show about dragons and try to figure out what to feed them. Students were happy to watch this theater experience virtually.


llustrator Artist, Mary Goodrich, virtually presented to BPS
llustrator Artist, Mary Goodrich, virtually presented to BPS, 1st grade students. She taught the students about building characters through digital art and creating illustrations on their iPads. Students were excited to create and personalize their characters while imaging a world their characters would live in. This was a great digital art experience for the students as well as thinking about storytelling through their illustrations.


Toca Madera visits St. Louis Schools virtually
The third, fourth, and fifth graders at St. Louis Catholic School were able to experience a virtual performance from the musical group Toca Madera on Wednesday, April 14th, 2021. The band “traveled” with our students to multiple countries in Latin America. While visiting each country, the duo shared a variety of instruments and traditional songs in order to experience its culture. Students loved demonstrating their Spanish speaking skills to Toca Madera throughout the perform


Author and Illustrator Jeffrey Ebbeler visits BPS and BIS virtually
BPS & BIS students had author/illustrator, Jeffrey Ebbeler, visit them March 30th and 31st virtually. After sharing a brief history of how he became an author/illustrator, Mr. Ebbeler then shared his stories with students and led a drawing session all while teaching his illustration techniques. At the end of the performance each student had a final product that he/she created with the direction of Mr. Ebbeler.
