

Reading Rocks Concert
On Friday, May 19, Batesville Primary School held a Reading Rocks concert to celebrate the reading progress they have made throughout the year and to kick off summer reading! Thaddeus Rex encouraged students to read books to get ideas for their writing. He also offered advice for budding musicians, encouraging them to take the time they spend playing video games and instead practice the guitar (or piano, or violin, etc.).


Dr. Butke visits Oldenburg Academy
Marla Butke, Ph.D., directs the Women's Chorale at Otterbein University and teaches Choral Methods at Capital University in Ohio. Recently retired as full professor at Ashland University, she has also taught music education courses at Xavier University, The Ohio State University, and Ohio Wesleyan University. Dr. Butke previously taught choral and general music in middle and high schools in Ohio. She holds degrees from Miami University, Wright State University and The Ohio St


The Ugly Duckling
BPS students were reminded that what's on the inside of a person is what matters. This theme of friendship was highlighted during an Arts in Education performance on May 11th, of The Ugly Duckling by TCT on Tour: A Division of the Children's Theatre of Cincinnati.


Young Artist Showcase Winners
The Young Artist Showcase competition, sponsored by the Rural Alliance for the Arts, honors students in grades 6-12 for accomplishments in five arts areas – drama, music, art, dance and creative writing. The SEAM Museum visited St. Louis School on April 13, 2017.
