Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves. Zumba routines incorporate interval training alternating fast and slow rhythms to help improve cardiovascular fitness for all age groups.
The program is designed to make students aware that there are many activities that you can do throughout your life to help reduce health risks, help maintain a healthy weight, strengthen your heart and boost your mood. Students are exposed to Zumba in hopes that if they enjoy it, they are more likely to do it regularly and experience its benefits as an aerobic exercise.
Mayra Adams teaches these classes at our local YMCA, so we also help our students to make community connections for lifetime fitness.
