Holocaust exhibit visits Oldenburg Academy

Oldenburg Academy hosted an exhibit from the Holocaust and Humanity Center in Cincinnati titled "The Notes Rose up in Flames: Music and the Holocaust" for one week in early April (April 8th-12th).

Sophomore students had studied the Holocaust in both English and World History, and music and German students were also invited to explore the exhibit during class. In the end, all OA students were able to observe the exhibit and have class conversations on what they found.

The 11-panel exhibit included photos and explanations. Henry Meyer, a survivor of Auschwitz, was profiled on one panel. After surviving the Holocaust, he attended Juilliard and later was a Master Teacher at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music.
