Arts in Education Evening Series Event with Tyron Cooper

As part of the Arts in Education Evening Series program, composer and ethnomusicologist Tyron Cooper gave a performance/talk about music and diversity on November 10, 2017, at the Batesville Memorial Public Library. The event was well-attended and was a wonderful opportunity to widen musical and cultural perspectives. Thank yous to Beth Enneking, RAA hospitality chair, who provided beautifully presented, delicious refreshments for the approximately forty people in attendance and to Mike Kruse, BMPL Director, who made the library available to us.

Dr. Cooper is a three-time Emmy award winner who is currently an Assistant Professor at Indiana University-Bloomington (IUB). He holds a BA degree in music education, an MA in jazz studies and a Ph.D. in ethnomusicology. He performed for or worked with over 700 students at BIS, BMS & BHS Nov. 8-10, 2017.
